You know, one day it occurred to me: I don't really have any burning need for a personal webpage. I will not become a less significant person if there is not an entire HTML file dedicated solely to me. I mean, there are some things that I'd like to do with this webspace, but I really wasn't doing any of them. So I took it all down.

What remains:

My LiveJournal

Hair Alchemy- A portfolio of my hair styling and extension work

Ethnography- This is a paper I wrote for an Inter-Ethnic Relations class a few years ago at De Anza Community College. I am mainly putting it online because, while writing it, I found a significant lack of information, especially about Croatian-American immigration. My saving grace was the fact that I lived less than a mile from Stanford University's Green Library, and you know what? Not everyone has that. So as the footnote says, you are welcome to either use my paper as a reference for the sources I use (i.e., "George Prpic as cited by Rae Deslich"), or you may cite my paper directly, provided you give proper citations for all information used.

In essence, this paper is an ethnography of Croatian immigrants to the United States, and then Filipino immigrants. At the end, it compares their experiences and draws some parallels. It is a hopelessly academic paper- my conclusions look good on paper, and draw on survey data for some of its information, but I have never presented it to a member of either ethnicity (besides myself), or any expert (besides the professor who graded it- and it did get an A, for what it's worth). So for all I know, my pretty theoretical ramblings could be completely divorced from reality. Your mileage may vary.

Yes, this is really all that there is.
